There should be one less undefeated team in the National Football League after the dust settles on Week 6, as the 5-0 Giants take on the 4-0 Saints.
New York easily improved to 5-0 last week by routing Oakland 44-7. Eli Manning played despite a badly injured heel and passed for 173 yards and two touchdowns before handing over the reigns to David Carr late in the second quarter. Ahmad Bradshaw had a strong game with 110 rushing yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
The Saints were on their bye last week and last took the field in Week 4 when they beat the Jets 24-10. New Orleans scored two defensive touchdowns in the win off an interception and a fumble recovery, while Drew Brees had a quiet game by his standards with 190 yards passing.
The Saints opened as a 3-point favorite in the game, while the total was set high at 47.
In other Week 6 action Minnesota tries to stay undefeated when they host 3-2 Baltimore. The Vikings hit 5-0 last week after downing St. Louis 38-10. Brett Favre passed for 232 yards with a touchdown and an interception, while Adrian Peterson rushed for 69 yards on 15 carries with a pair of touchdowns.
The Ravens dropped their second in a row last week with a 17-14 loss to Cincinnati. Ray Rice had a solid game in the loss, rushing for 68 yards on 14 carries and caching seven passes for 74 yards and a TD. Joe Flacco passed for 186 yards with the one touchdown pass and two interceptions. Baltimore's offense was outgained by Cincinnati 403 yards to 257 yards and they'll need to correct that quickly to have a chance against Minnesota.
The Vikings are 3-point favorites in the game and the total was set at 43.5.
There are also a number of divisional matchups this weekend, headlined by an NFC West clash between Arizona and Seattle.
The Cardinals needed a late goal-line stand last week to get past Houston 28-21. It was all Arizona in the first half as the Cardinals took a 21-0 lead into the break. Three straight Houston touchdowns later and it was knotted up 21-21. Arizona corner Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie delivered the final blow with a 49-yard interception return for six that gave them the lead and the win. Kurt Warner finished the game with 302 passing yards and two touchdown tosses to Larry Fitzgerald.
The Seahawks welcomed back starting QB Matt Hasselbeck last week and he quickly ignited the offense in a 41-0 win over Jacksonville. Hasselbeck passed for 241 yards with four touchdowns, while the Seattle defense held Jacksonville to 199 total yards with five sacks and two forced turnovers.
The Cardinals were 2-0 both SU and ATS against Seattle last season, but this weekend the Seahawks are a 3-point home favorite.
Other divisional matchups on tap for Sunday include Detroit at Green Bay, Cleveland at Pittsburgh, Carolina at Tampa Bay, and Buffalo at the Jets. The home team is favored in every contest, except Carolina at Tampa Bay where the Panthers are 3-point road chalk.
